By Frank Brady

David Cameron had come up with the script and idea for the film before the technology to make the film had even been invented. Almost 20 years in the making, this film not only makes the list for its revolutionary animation, but also for the story line that draws attention to human's attitudes towards the natural earth and other civilisations. There were critics of the film, however, but that still didn't prevent the film from being the first to gross $2billion at the box office!

Apocolypse Now

The harsh reality of living in the slums is brought to life not just by an excellent script (which was based on real events) but also by a cast made up of real children and men from the slums themselves. Set in Cidade de Deus (City of God), a slum on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, the story follows a group of friends over a couple of decades as their lives slowly but surely become entangles with organised crime and drugs.

Shindler's List

Time and time again, this movie has been at the top of 'best movie ever' polls. In simple terms, the story follows the story of a Nazi Party German who, through employing them in his factory, manages to save the lives of over a thousand Polish-Jews. The black and white cinematography and the shocking images of suffering make this film truly harrowing, with it understandable how this film won numerous Academy Awards, Golden Globes and British Academy Awards.

Just for its revolutionary animation, this movie is a must-see for any man, woman or child. The director, James Cameron, had thought of the story before the technology to make the animation was even ready, making this film almost 20 years in the making. Some find the story quite preachy, but most fans of the film believe that is offers a very strong and important message about human's responsibility towards the natural planet.

The Godfather

Our final film and it's back to the war. The Vietnam War, this time. As well as the all-star cast and realistic, brutal imagery, what makes this film so special compared with other war movies is that it tells a story that for many years was kept secret. Neither a pro- no anti-war film, the director, Francis Ford Coppola, describes it as an anti-lie film; bringing forward the truth about the war.
