Tom Ford Glasses Are Top Designs

By Campbell Quinn

Tom Ford glasses must be one of the most desired pairs of eyewear in all the fashion world.

The rich and famous from all industries line up to be the lucky first few to grab new Tom Ford eyewear, glasses, and sunglasses. One of the most influential and recognizable wearers is Angelina Jolie, a real fashion maven.

Tom Ford is an American designer who dominates many areas of fashion at the highest levels, all over the globe. In combination with his eyewear collections, he develops and sells men's fashions, women's fashions, and beauty products and fragrances for all seasons.

But the talent of Tom Ford does not end there. He also makes movies. In fact, he directed (and wrote and produced) a fine movie called: A Single Man. Its leading actor, Colin Firth, was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. That's just another way that style overflows from Tom Ford- and into every pair of Tom Ford glasses.

Design Elements of Tom Ford Glasses

The key characteristic if Tom Ford eyewear is serene design combined with an imaginative set of colors that are almost too audacious. This is eyewear with post-modern style, but it stops short of being overly ornate or elaborate- the way some other continental designs can look.

Tom Ford glasses embody modern interpretations of nostalgic designs- aviator, wayfarer, oversize- in the best respects. Deference is paid to these historic shapes, but style is not forfeited.

Quite they opposite is true. Admiration for these sleek lines turns into 21st century high styles that are new and exciting. And Tom Ford eyeglasses exemplify subtle design restraint with the integrated metal "T" emblem at the temples.

The people you see wearing Tom Ford project a certain confidence and cool reserve. They aren't the people making the loudest noise and the party- they just have the most listeners. They prefer Tom Ford eyewear for the same reasons they choose a fine car- it looks great, feels solid, and works perfectly.

Tom Ford glasses do what they are meant to with quality, elegance, and panache.

Tom Ford's Walk to Famous Designer

Thomas Carlyle Ford was born in Austin, Texas and spent most of his childhood in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He moved to New York City as a teenager and enrolled at New York University as an art history major.

He studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris during an overseas exchange program. He changed his major to architecture, which was the degree he eventually earned.

Tom Ford's journey towards his iconic line of Tom Ford glasses began in 1990. He relocated to Milan and joined Gucci as the Womenswear Designer. Tom excelled at the Italian design house revealing himself to be a "rock star."

Promotions at Gucci came easily for Tom Ford. in 1992, he became Design Director. In 1994, he was promoted again to Creative Director with responsibility for all clothing and perfumes, Gucci's entire brand strategy, and design of their boutiques. He was only 33 years old.

Tom took on more and more as Gucci grew larger. In 2000 Yves Saint Laurent was acquired and Tom Ford was tapped to lead it as Creative Director while still keeping his current job at Gucci. Ford made magic happen for YSL and was appointed Vice Chairman of Gucci Group- a record breaking rise to the top.

But Tom Ford wanted even more creative freedom, so in 2004 he resigned from Gucci when it was itself bought out by another company, Pinault Printemps Redoute.

Tom Ford launched his own TOM FORD brand in April 2005. He joined up with Marcolin Group to build and manage the supply chain of his Tom Ford glasses.

And as you know, the Tom Ford collection has built a stellar reputation ever since then. The brand has won awards from the US Accessory Council and GQ Magazine, to name a few.
